Alaska is the proud home of the aurora borealis and vast starry skies, yet they are disappearing around the places we live due to light pollution. Light pollution threatens our legacy, our wellbeing, and the health of ecosystems.
Alaska Dark Skies is building a movement to reclaim our nights for current and future generations. By following simple design principles, we can ensure that outdoor light stays where it is needed and our skies remain dark. Turn down the lights and turn up the Alaska night!
Do you want to be a part of building the dark sky movement in Alaska? Alaska Dark Skies is hosting its fall community meeting. Come to share experiences as we make important decisions that will determine the direction of our young organization.
